This page shows a non-exhaustive list of the species that appear in the world of Guardian Tales.
Angel[]
Not much is known about angels. Known Angels:
- Archangel Gabriel
- Sword of Heaven Angie, Plitvice's angel who used to serve her, but now is under Gabriel's orders.
Bomb Bug[]
Bomb bugs are ladybugs that live with Gnomes and are mainly found in World 6 - Inn...?. They can explode and with the proper height and weight, the player can ride and fly them. They are pacifistic and seem to help Gnomes with their needs, like carrying their food and escaping from Lord Smiley Face. Gnomes have domesticated Bomb bugs and treat them like friends, putting names and protecting them in wooden cages. They're enemies of some dungeons, their element depends on the color of their shells: gray for basic, red for fire, green for earth, blue for water, purple for dark, and yellow for light.
Cyborg[]
A Cyborg is an organism that has restored function or, especially, enhanced abilities due to the integration of some artificial component or technology that relies on some sort of feedback, for example: prostheses, artificial organs, implants or, in some cases, wearable technology. Known Cyborg:
- Cyborg Monk Chun Ryeo
A martial artist who reached enlightenment through extensive training, he is the creator of the "Shen Mountain Fist" technique.
Demon[]
Main article: Demons
Demons are capable of magic. Demons hail from the devildom, and are not in good terms with humans, which is why their queen sent some of her demons for an exchange program at the Magic School. As shown in World 12 - Demon World and World 13 - Lilith Tower, their civilization is similar to the city life, with more advanced technology as compared to human territories such as Kanterbury and Rah Empire.
Demon God[]
There are only 4 known Demon Gods, and all of them have been existing since Dungeon Link. All of them were enemies with Legendary Hero Erina and Demon Queen Lilith, but the first three on this list are under a contract of obedience so that they can help preventing the prophecy and gain freedom. Bellial broke the contract by abandoning his host and escaping.

Desert Elf[]
Desert Elves are Elves who live in the Desert of Madness. Compared to normal Elves, they have a tan skin tone and different eye designs. Their civilization is based on the Middle East.

A half-Desert Elf half-Human girl, who works as a dancer by day and an assassin at night. - Parvati
Tinia's older sister, who works as a Kamazon employee and takes out those who threaten or get in Kamazon's way. - Rosetta
Founding member of the 'Reservoir Snakes', she now lives as a huntress and helped Elvira become stronger.
Dokkaebi[]
Not much is known about Dokkaebis (도깨비), other than that they have shapeshifting abilities and that they dislike conflict.

Dragon[]
Dragons are large, serpentine, legendary creatures that are capable of using magic. The existence of fire dragons seem to hint at the existence of other types of dragons of different elemental capabilities.

The ruler of the fire dragons, who sealed herself to suppress her powers while letting other fire dragons roam free. - Girgas
The son of the Fire Dragon King, who ran away from home and got stuck in a half-dragon half-human form. - Ameris
A young, sweet Earth Dragon Princess, the same age as Girgas. They are childhood friends and she fell in love with him after being separated due to Girgas escaping to the human realm.

Elves have the appearance of humans, but are distinguishable by their large, pointed ears.

A half-Elf who is the youngest caporegime of the crime syndicate, Reservoir Snakes. Her other half in unknown, but throughout her life, she has replaced her body parts with machines. - Elvira
A half-Elf, and the granddaughter of the founder of Reservoir Snakes. - Rachel

Fairy[]
Fairies have the appearance of humans, but are distinguishable by their large, pointed ears. While normally fairies in fiction are depicted as having wings, fairies in this world do not always have wings and sometimes are indistinguishable from elves.
Known fairies:
- Aoba
A leaf fairy who is assigned to protect the flower garden of the forest. But Aoba has such a lazy personality, and prefers lying around even though it is said that a flower garden that Aoba cultivated in roughly 30 minutes is far more superior to a flower garden that other fairies cultivated for two hours. She keeps ignoring The Knight since it's bothersome to have an actual conversation, but agrees to talk after rare comic books are brought to her. - The Evil Fairy
Fox[]
Foxes are magical humanoid beings typically with fox ears and nine fox tails. They become fox sages after a long period of training and abide by their duty to help all animals.
Known foxes:
- Nari
An eight-tailed fox sage. Because she lacks a tail, she also lacks power. She was awakened due to the prayers of the chief of the Well Village. After seeing that the surrounding villages were all ruined, she tried not to associate with it, saying it was humanity's fault. However, she travels back in time with The Knight to find out the root cause of the events in the villages.
- Garam
A nine-tailed fox sage and Nari's friend. Moved by the kind heart of a girl named Dallae, he solved the problem of the human villages in the past, but his interventions brought about more problems than assistance.
Ghost[]
Ghosts are spirits of dead individuals. They often appear in World 3 - Magic School since the school is haunted by them. Other vengeful ghosts possess a few of the students.

Gnome[]
Gnomes live in Heavenhold, specifically in the Inn's tables. They can be found in World 6 - Inn...? riding Bomb Bugs, sewing shoes, or storing food. They're always hiding from Lord Smiley Face, who they consider their God and protector, even if she's always trying to kill them. They're even smaller than a bomb bug, so they can ride and fly them. They also have domesticated bomb bugs and take care of them. They normally are pacifists and fear gnomes who turn violent.

Goblin[]
Goblins are short, monstrous creatures that appear with different skin tones that correspond to their elements, such as green for Earth, red for Fire, and blue for Water. Most of them appear in World 1 - Kanterbury Forest.
God[]
Gods are supernatural beings whose existence and power rely on peoples' adoration and worship. Some gods were humans who were great wizards before being elevated into a deity by Prometheia.

The goddess of war, sealed in Heavenhold awaiting the arrival of a new Hero. - Goddess of Wealth Eleanor
The goddess of wealth, who left Heaven after the World Tree lost its power. - God of Harvest Kamael

The believer of the Chosen One. Unlike other gods, she was able to manipulate the holy powers at a young age, supposedly bestowed by Prometheia as acknowledgement for her unconditional faith in the Chosen One. - Prometheia
The god among the gods, she is the divinity who grants powers and ascends great figures into deities. Her name is often used as a religious connotation.

There are two types of humans: those with the magic capability and those without it. Humans that are able to use magic usually become wizards after studying at the Magic School.

Innuit[]
Innuits live in Mt. Shivering with the Snowmen. Innuits look like a hybrid of humans and wolves: their physical appearance is mostly human, except for their large wolf ears and tail. While normally, they cannot manifest magic powers, a family of Innuits bears the curse of the Ice Witch, which causes their descendants to manifest powers of red ice.

The Ice Witch of the Innuit tribe, who imprisons her victims, mostly Snowmen, in red ice. - Coco
An Innuit botanist from the East Village. She defends a fellow Innuit girl, Mako, who was unjustly accused of the murder of General Gast, and becomes the girl's lawyer to defend her innocence. - Mako

Invader[]
Main article: Invaders
Invaders are the main antagonists of the game. They're usually the enemies in most levels. Their origin isn't yet known. The color of an invader stays the same regardless of their element, setting them apart from most enemies.
Living Armor[]
Living Armors are metal armors that have been given sentience by the use of magic. They are often found at the Magic School. The color of a Living Armor is determined by its element: gray for basic, red for fire, green for earth, blue for water, purple for dark, and yellow for light.
Oni[]
Oni are a type of demonic creature with great strength. In the game, they are humanoids of darker skin tone and have large horns on their head. Known oni:

An energetic racer who is always on the search for new challenges. She loves to race against The Knight. - Lara
Initially mistaken to be Lana the Lightning Counter, she introduces herself as a Lara the Lightning Rider. She is Lana's mother in her youth. Her appearance is identical to that of her daughter, but wears her hair in a ponytail instead of a twin-tail, and she has longer horns.
- Kunoichi Sumire
Half human, half oni, she was being used as a core for a spell since she was a baby. She was saved and taken as a pupil by Akayuki and Aoyouki.
Robot[]
Robots are programmable and controllable machines capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically. There are two types of robots in the game: those that have gained sentience such as the likes of the robots in Heavenhold, and those that haven't.

Snowman[]
Snowmen have the appearance of a human, but with skin made of ice. A male snowman is referred to as "Snowman M", while a female snowman is "Snowman F". Snowmen live in Mt. Shivering with the Innuits.

A Snowman who is displeased with how The Prince and the Ice Witch are being tolerant of the Innuits, who he believes to be a race below the Snowmen. His mysterious murder kicks off the plot of World 8 - Mt. Shivering.
Succubus[]
Succubi appear in dreams to seduce both men and women. Due to this, it seems like their career paths are limited. Succubi live in Succubus Town, located in the Dungeon Kingdom, but a few of them are located in Demon World.

Teatan[]
Teatans have the appearance of short humans, with a height of less than 150cm. They have big ears covered in fur. Teatans mainly live in the Teatan Kingdom, but they can be found around the world.

Tiger[]
Tigers can be found in the City of Shen and the Tiger Village in Folktale. Thanks to a gift from the gods, tigers lived peacefully and didn't attack humans, but humans started attacking the tigers to claim the gift for themselves. After the past is changed, tigers and humans started to co-exist.

Vampire[]
Vampires have the appearance of humans but are weakened by the presence of sunlight. They seem to be really close to vampires in "Dracula": really pale skin, really dark hair, fangs, and likes to suck blood out of humans.

A vampire who lives in the forest. Karina tricks passing travelers to let her suck their blood, and attempts it on The Knight. Even after a failed opportunity, she still wants a taste so she joins The Knight's party. - Cecil

Wolf[]
Wolves are native to Mt. Shivering. Although they are similar to puppies as babies, they can grow into an enormous size.

A white-haired animal that lives in the forest, later revealed to be a wolf. The Knight saves him, but he bites them in turn. On the third meeting, after defeating enemies together, The Knight and the White Beast become friends. - White Snow
