Ice Witch of Snow Mountain is the first part of the main quests in World 8 - Mt. Shivering. The search for yet another Champion continues and it seems as though Mt. Shivering is currently having a conflict between the Innuit tribe and the Snowman tribe.
Summary
There is a shadow of a person as soon as the Knight arrives. It runs away but leads to bunch of snowmen trapped in red ice. Snowman called Martin blames the Innuits for sheltering the witch responsible for the red ice. The snowmen seem to have an overall bad opinion of the Innuits thanks to the witch, which has resulted into the snowmen openly abusing Innuits.
The Knight walks in onto a conversation between General Gast and the Snowman Prince, with Gast blaming the Prince's inaction on falling in love with an Innuit girl. The Champion's Sword reacts and there is a tail poking out of a snow mound.
The next moment General Gast is dead with red ice spear on his back and a little Innuit girl Mako is being accused of being a witch before Innuit Girl Coco comes for the rescue. She asks for the Knight's help in clearing Mako's name. As the investigation progresses, it will be revealed that the culprit was a hooded woman and Coco seems oddly apprehensive about it.
By the time the court is about to reconvene, General Gast's body has disappeared but the court will go on regardless.
Court
The Snowman Prince is the judge. The Knight and Coco are on the defendants side talking for Mako. Snowman Olivier is the prosecutor and calls out the wintness Meadow.
- Meadow testifies that she saw the attack happen at 3 AM.
- General Gast's watch had stopped at 9PM.
- The watch likely stopped during the incident which contradicts Meadow's testimony.
- Meadow testifies that it would be impossible for Gast to die at 9PM, because Snowmen patrolling until midnight and the patrols did not see the body. The patrolling snowmen agree that they didn't see the body during their patrol.
- There was an odd snow mound at the scene.
- The patrolling soldiers agree that they saw a snow mound during their patrol.
- The snow mound had moved from where the body was found to the side of the park by morning according to patrolling snowman.
- The body was hidden by the snow mound.
- Meadow testifies that she mistook the time and admits that the body was hidden by the snow. She still insist that Mako had no other reason to be at the crime scene in the middle of the night.
- Mako had received letter last minute, inviting her to the crime scene at 3 AM.
- The letter is an impersonation of Mako's mother even though Mako is an orphan.
- Meadow poinnts out that without a witness there is no proof that the letter is real. The person who delivered the letter, fixer, is stuck in red ice.
- The child of the fixer runs in and recognizes Meadow as the hooded woman who gave him the job.
- Meadow is now being accused of the murder.
- The Prince rules out that Mako is not guilty and wants to give Meadow guilty verdict.
- Meadow objects as she admits to hiding the body and framing Mako, but testifies that she did not kill Gast, just found and used the body. She had evidence that she had told the fixer to get rid of it to fully frame Mako.
- The bloodied pandant was found inside fixer's house.
- The pendant belongs to the Prince.
As the prince is getting arrested, Coco rushes in and defends the prince using red ice. This defence doesn't last long as General Gast jumps in fully alive after pretending to be dead to catch the witch and her spy.
