Enhance is the option given for Weapons and Accessories. Enhancing changes the options on any given item. Enhancing is unlocked after finishing stage 1-5 Ancient Ruin Entrance and meeting the Blacksmith. After unlocking it, you can find the Enhance option from clicking on the item from either your Inventory or Hero Details.
Level Enhance[]
Every Weapon and Accessory can be leveled up using 
Strengthening Hammers or other weapons as materials. Increasing the level of a weapon will increase its Main Option, Accessories and Shields will have their Def stat increased while most weapons will have their own Atk stat increased which in turn raised their Base DPS. Two-Handed Swords, Gauntlets and Claws will have both stats increased and Baskets will also have a "Heal" stat that will be increased when leveling up the equipment.
Limit Break[]
You can increase the maximum Level of an Equipment with Limit Breaking Hammer or a duplicate of the same weapon. You can Limit Break for maximum of 5 times, with a chance of failure. (If you do limit break with duplication of you weapon and it's ex epic equipment, it's necessary to unlock it, because ex epic equipment, nor any ex equipment will be always locked for selling or using in limit break)
Option Change[]
Any weapons unlocked options can be changed by consuming Option Change Stones. This gives you a chance to increase the base stats on a weapon be it Sub Options or Main Options of the weapon. It can also be used to unlock some Sub Options that were previously closed. Each time you Change Options, new options are randomized. From the Book you can view that item's maximum and minimum options to see if your weapon is already maxed out. You can also see the options from the Option Change screen. If you wish to not change one option, but still want to go through Option Change, you may lock options using Option Lock Stone.
Evolution[]
This Enhances the chosen equipment's Star Level to the maximum of 5 stars. It does not increase the rarity of the weapon, but it does increase the Base Stats of the equipment. Evolution is done by consuming Gold the amount depending on the Star Level of the Equipment. It is mentionable that each Star Level counts as unique equipment towards Book and its Knowledge Rank.

Mystery Evolution[]
Just like Evolution, Mystery Evolution increases the Star Level of an Equipment consuming Gold. But while you Mystery Evolve the Equipment will turn to a random another Equipment. While Evolving normally would conserve the Equipment name, Mystery Evolve does not. It is considerably cheaper, but also has a chance of failure where you lose your Gold and your Equipment. You can increase that chance of success by using other equipment as materials. Each Mystery Evolve requires at least one extra equipment as material and must be of the same Star Level as the weapon you're trying to Evolve. The amount of gold consumed and the amount of success % gained is proportional to the Star Level of the Equipment.
