Element is an attribute that each Hero and Weapon has in the game Guardian Tales. Damage dealt differs depending on how different Elements act or react with each other.
Element Relationship[]
The Element system in the game Guardian Tales follows an Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors gameplay, wherein:
- Upper hand Elemental Atk deals 130% damage.
- Subservient Elemental Atk deals 70% damage.
- Atk from unrelated Element deals 100% damage.
Element Notes[]
- A Hero's Atk Element is decided by the equipped Weapon, regardless if the Hero and their equipped Weapon are of the same or different Elements.
- A Hero's Def Element is decided by the Hero's Element, regardless of the equipped Weapon's Element.
- There is a 10% bonus Atk buff if the Element of the Hero matches the Element of the Weapon equipped.
Elements[]
Basic[]
Strong against Light, weak against Dark. Users of the Basic Element are Heroes with powers that do not fit into the other type classifications. Notable exceptions to this are the following heroes (beware of unmarked spoilers!):
- The Knight, whose Chain Skills and Weapon Skills bring forth lightning, an attribute associated with the Light element.
- Future Knight and Scientist on the Beach Sohee incorporate the use of magiton in their Chain Skills and Weapon Skills, an attribute associated with the Light element.
- Idol Captain Eva and Scientist on the Beach Sohee, whose regular forms (Knight Captain Eva and Scientist Sohee, respectively) are of the Light element.

Dark[]
Strong against Basic, weak against Light. Users of the Dark Element include Heroes with affinity to the dark arts, are not necessarily villains. Notable exceptions to this are the following heroes (beware of unmarked spoilers!):
- Story-wise, Ice Witch Lupina's main attacks are the creation of red ice and blizzards, which are abilities associated with the Water Element. But gameplay-wise, her attacks are mainly drawn from dark magic, such as the summoning of her wolf familiars.
- Unlike other Heavenhold Androids implied to be of the Light element (story-wise, at least, since the only other playable Android is Android Mk.99), Autonomous Android Mk.2 is of the Dark element.

Earth[]
Strong against Water, weak against Fire. Users of the Earth Element include Heroes that have a connection with nature, and are typically those with capabilities associated with land, soil, rocks, and plants. List of Earth Heroes
Fire[]
Strong against Earth, weak against Water. Users of the Fire Element include Heroes that have an affinity with fire magic and abilities, and include magical beasts such as dragons. List of Fire Heroes
Light[]
Strong against Dark, weak against Basic. Users of the Light Element include Heroes that have an affinity with light magic, including its alternative forms such as lightning and magiton energy. List of Light Heroes
Water[]
Strong against Fire, weak against Earth. Users of the Water Element include Heroes that have an affinity with water magic and its other uses, such as ice, snow, and healing. Notable exceptions to this are the following heroes (beware of unmarked spoilers!):
- Unlike other Succubus Heroes (Yuze, Zoe), Noble Succubus Bianca is of the Water Element.
